About us

Established in 1900, The Removers Benevolent Association (RBA) is the only dedicated charity for the removals & storage industry. It was set up to provide financial relief for those in need (including their widows and dependents) who are, or have been, engaged by any Member company of the British Association of Removers Ltd (BAR).

The RBA can make grants to those that qualify and are in need of temporary financial assistance to help the beneficiary through a difficult period. Whether it’s to meet essential needs, to cover loss of income due to illness or injury or any other legitimate reason.

The Trustees welcome all eligible applications for assistance. The criteria being that the member of staff needs to have been employed continuously for two years by a BAR Member company.

Our Trustees

Our 4 Trustees are all drawn from the Removals Industry. They use their skills and experience to lead and govern the RBA, decide how it is run and ensure that as a charity it is achieving its stated aims.

Being a Trustee is a responsible – and on occasion difficult – role, as they are charged with making decisions that will impact people’s lives.
